To measure the length correctly, as the ATF lists they do, I bought a piece of PVC pipe to use as the rod the make sure I cut the barrel to a legal length.
Commission to vote on guns in parks

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The Shelby County Commission will decide this week on whether to allow guns in parks.

A committee will vote on the resolution Wednesday before it heads to a full commission vote.

The resolution would prohibit people with gun permits from carrying handguns in any public park or recreational area owned or operated by Shelby County Government.

Last month, the Memphis City Council passed its own ordinance to ban guns in public places.

The local resolutions follow a recent vote in the Tennessee State Legislature allowing guns in parks.

So the legal registered TN gun carry permit holders want this privilege, the state grants it, and the City of Memphis and Shelby County take it away? Like that vote will keep those who already illegally carry into parks from doing it.

Then,
http://www.wmctv.com/Global/story.asp?S=10655462

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A hearing has been delayed on a lawsuit to stop a law that allows handguns to be carried in Tennessee bars and restaurants that serve alcohol.

One reason the lawsuit gives for stopping the law is that it's an "unlawful public nuisance that unreasonably threatens the life, health and safety of the public."

Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen vetoed the measure in May, but the Tennessee General Assembly voted last month to override the veto.

Seriosuly, this new law creates "unlawful public nuisance that unreasonably threatens the life, health and safety of the public"? Again what about those that do carry in these places already? And what is unlawful, a TN Permit holder shows they have gone through all the legal channels that the state has step up to legally carry a hand gun. If they want to start pointing fingers at what "unreasonably threatens the life, health and safety of the public" then they might want to rethink the drivers testing and licensing program too.

Robots powered by organic material

http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn17372-gallery-domestic-robots-with-a-taste-for-flesh.html

But the robots also have a taste for flesh. They can gain energy by chomping on flies and mice, an idea inspired by researchers at Bristol Robotics Lab, UK, who built a fly-powered robot and have also suggested that marine robots could feed on plankton.

The pests are lured in and digested by an internal microbial fuel cell. This exploits the way microbes generate free electrons and hydrogen ions when oxidising chemicals for energy. Electronics can be powered by directing the electrons around an external circuit before reuniting them with the ions.

DAMN.

AN Fitting to Thread size chart

Chart AN fittings, size to SAE thread sizes. One the first one, it jammed and I couldn't load more then 9rds in. I tried using the Glock speedloader and when you pressed the back of the round the nose of the bullet would go stay up and the rear of the casing would go down. So I took the mag apart and bent the spring slightly so the pressure would be a little bit more even. Then I reloaded it, this time it took all 15rds but was difficult to load towards the end. Was still binding a little.
I shot these yesterday. So far only 45rds through each mag but working well so far, both fed through just fine.
Here is a side by side picture comparison of the two magazines.
KCI left Glock Right
<img style="cursor:pointer; I can already tell a great difference in the pull. But I cannot say really which part really made the most difference, the cleaning, the polishing, or the connector in my gun, the pull was VERY hard on it to start with. I know all three together have made a great impact.

Join SMZRU

Shelby Metro Zombie Response Unit.

Join up:
http://www.smzru.org
and
http://www.myspace.com/smzru
